Principal's Message

August 2021
Dear Families and Students,

We look forward to the 2021-2022 school year at Bautista Creek Elementary School! We have missed seeing each and every one of you and anticipate a safe return to full in-person learning. As your new principal, I am committed to ensuring that we support all students as we bridge the socio-emotional and academic gaps that may have occurred due to the impact of Covid-19.

Hemet Unified School District believes in EMBRACE~EDUCATE~EMPOWER, and strives to incorporate these values into all we do. At Bautista Creek, we welcome your input and look forward to working with you to provide a safe, rigorous and enjoyable learning experience.

School Schedule

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 10th.

Registration

Please ensure your Aeries Parent Portal is updated with your child’s records, address, phone number, and all permissions are in order. If you need support, or have questions, please contact Lori Lick, our Secretary.

Programs

We’re excited to announce that we are offering music 5 days a week for all grade levels and band 2.5 days a week for 4th & 5th grades. We look forward to opportunities to see students perform. Additionally, we also have two full time PE teachers and are ready for intramural sports and competitions.

Parent Involvement

We are currently looking towards options to include parents and teachers in ways that will foster community, as we also honor local restrictions. Please be on the lookout for communication and we hope you’ll get involved with us.

Back to School Night

You are welcome on campus to participate in our Back to School Night VIRTUALLY on Thursday, September 2nd beginning at 5:30pm. A link will be shared to families via classroom communication.

The program will be as follows:
     5:30 - 6:00pm
Meet the new staff at Bautista Creek & “State of the School” (Title One meeting) by Ms. Sinclair

     6:00 - 6:30pm
Classroom Visit Option 1

     6:30 - 7:00pm
Classroom Visit Option 2

This evening is intended to meet your child’s teacher, become familiar with classroom routines, procedures and school wide expectations. Additionally, staff will share expectations for learning, especially in the areas of English Language Arts (Literacy) and Math.

Safety

Our campus is a closed campus. We understand that many of our students have been away from school and could have a range of emotions. We will allow parents to walk their child to their classroom on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 10th. After that, supervisors and staff members will welcome students at the gate and ensure students are safe on campus. As always, per District policy, all visitors must check into the office and show acceptable ID before attending a prearranged meeting with a staff member. Gates will open by 7:00am. Students may enjoy breakfast outdoors at the tables after 7:00am.

COVID Protocols

As we return to school there are a few guidelines that all Hemet Unified schools will follow*:
  1. All staff and students will wear masks indoors (masks are optional outdoors)
  2. Social distancing is not required, however recommended
  3. LARGE gatherings, and school events can NOT occur.
  4. Families should self-screen. If a student has a fever of 100.4 or greater, a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or directly exposed to anyone with a COVID diagnosis, they are to stay home.
  5. We will screen temperatures and ask “How Are You Feeling?” questions to all students as they enter campus.
  6. Hemet will continue to partner with the local health department regarding positive case reporting, monitoring and follow-up.
*subject to change anytime according to California Department of Public Health (CDPH), CDC or HUSD

The Bautista Creek Staff welcome your family and students warmly and look forward to continuing our long-standing traditions and high academic achievement. We are so glad you’re here!
